Midgards's Semi Akmeşe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mümin Yılmaz in the 22nd minute of play. Karl Axelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Çelik Özil in the 26th minute of the match. Karl Axelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berkin Saygın in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Midgards's Babür Ulvi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Babür Ulvi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Midgards protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Babür Ulvi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 29 minutes into the game, one of Midgards:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Semi Akmeşe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Arango, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Semi Akmeşe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Gökalp Erçetin in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match, Çelik Özil got a very nice opportunity to score, but Karl Axelsson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 40th match minute, TRABZONSPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fırat Esentürk to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Midgards getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Januário Sesimbra hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ahmet Gökalp Erçetin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Çelik Özil took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Karl Axelsson. Karl Axelsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Ahmet Gökalp Erçetin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Semi Akmeşe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mümin Yılmaz in the 64th minute. Karl Axelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Güray İltekin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, 柯克扬 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ahmet Gökalp Erçetin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Semi Akmeşe made a huge save. Semi Akmeşe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Arango, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ahmet Gökalp Erçetin got free with Semi Akmeşe in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. TRABZONSPOR walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
