After 10 minutes of play, TRABZONSPOR's Marcus Edström made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Asım Arif Şimşektürk was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Hilmi Ayyıldız's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ant Soysaltürk was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. When Tacettin Taybars fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TRABZONSPOR's protests and gave Tacettin Taybars a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, one of TRABZONSPOR:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for TRABZONSPOR. The corner led Van's Başaran Mahşer to fire away a dangerous shot which Ant Soysaltürk despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aban Popo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Marcus Edström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcus Edström struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Asım Arif Şimşektürk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TRABZONSPOR. The TRABZONSPOR fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when TRABZONSPOR's Aban Popo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. There was no doubt that TRABZONSPOR were the better team. TRABZONSPOR's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
