The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Karpuzlu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Denizli United:s goal. Güvenç Eskioğlu shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Ensar Yürükoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Besim Kutsalan in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Karpuzlu booed when Denizli United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Nabi Hürsel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Hazar Kayaalp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denizli United's supporters rose to their feet, but Hazar Kayaalp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Turan Coşan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ensar Yürükoğlu came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Karpuzlu's Besim Kutsalan. But to his dismay, Besim Kutsalan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 42 minutes into the game, Arda Göksel Bozdoğan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ensar Yürükoğlu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hazar Kayaalp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Karpuzlu were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Besim Kutsalan made a kick off. Özbek Vechi hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Atıf Oğuztüzün in the 57th minute of play forced Denizli United's goalkeeper Ensar Yürükoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th match minute, Karpuzlu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Atıf Oğuztüzün to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Karpuzlu getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ali Atıf Oğuztüzün hit a great ball. Ensar Yürükoğlu made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Arda Göksel Bozdoğan sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Nabi Hürsel in the 66th minute of play forced Karpuzlu's goalkeeper Turan Coşan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Karpuzlu defense, Ali Nabi Hürsel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Turan Coşan. The Karpuzlu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Turan Coşan should have stopped the shot. Ensar Yürükoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Besim Kutsalan, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute, Besim Kutsalan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ensar Yürükoğlu. The goal made the score 1-4. In the 80th minute, Karpuzlu's Besim Kutsalan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Ensar Yürükoğlu came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Karpuzlu's Arda Göksel Bozdoğan. But to his dismay, Arda Göksel Bozdoğan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Arda Göksel Bozdoğan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Besim Kutsalan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ensar Yürükoğlu came out and tried to block the shot, but Besim Kutsalan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 92nd minute.
