The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, ADANA DEMİR SPOR's goalkeeper Sungurhan Özdek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Viana. In the 6th match minute, ADANA DEMİR SPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustafa Birol Aksakal to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in ADANA DEMİR SPOR's zone, Eusébio Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sungurhan Özdek came out of the goal and Eusébio Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 14 minutes, Korcan Sezginay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GaLaTaSaRaY and the ADANA DEMİR SPOR players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute, Korcan Sezginay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25thth minute of the game Kol Atan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GaLaTaSaRaY's Gunnar Lahe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 31 played minutes GaLaTaSaRaY got a freekick which was hit by Dong Wen Xuan. Sungurhan Özdek made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Korcan Sezginay sent off a good shot on target. During the 38th minute of the match Korcan Sezginay completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Korcan Sezginay a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 39 minutes into the match, Kubilay Nurkan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gunnar Lahe. GaLaTaSaRaY's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kubilay Nurkan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

ADANA DEMİR SPOR's Eser Karanalp was substituted for Emrullah Budaklı. GaLaTaSaRaY's Gunnar Lahe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kol Atan in the 69th minute of play. After 70 minutes GaLaTaSaRaY's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mirza Sökmen who took care of the corner kick. ADANA DEMİR SPOR's Sungurhan Özdek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Viana in the 74th minute of play. Nusrettin Ağca kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arın Erendiz in the 78th minute of play forced ADANA DEMİR SPOR's goalkeeper Sungurhan Özdek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When %teams%'s Kol Atan was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 0-3 just inside the left pole, 81 minutes into the game. Gunnar Lahe was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Nusrettin Ağca kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Sungurhan Özdek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Viana in the 86th minute of play. When Kol Atan came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the ADANA DEMİR SPOR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kol Atan couldn't finish the play. A collision led to ADANA DEMİR SPOR getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Eser Karanalp hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Eusébio Viana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sungurhan Özdek was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Kol Atan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
