Spectators: 7713 (Terracing: 5786, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Can Tapık started the match with the kick off. Can Tapık received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Asım Merih tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of San Gwann Birlik booed when Forza Beşiktaş was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Chago didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute Wasyl Cwynar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Pancu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Can Tapık in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Asım Merih prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Zülfü Gürgen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Pancu made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Zülfü Gürgen sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th match minute, San Gwann Birlik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terkild Knoop to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Wasyl Cwynar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Daniel Pancu. That made the score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. In the 25th minute Terkild Knoop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Pancu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justo Semeno kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. A hard shot by Ender Turcan from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Daniel Pancu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 30 minutes into the game, Selmi Kayı threw the ball into play from the sideline. San Gwann Birlik's Terkild Knoop quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Forza Beşiktaş's Can Tapık got a free kick in the 30th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as San Gwann Birlik's Terkild Knoop slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Daniel Pancu. That made the score 2-0 after 32 minutes of play. 39 minutes into the match, San Gwann Birlik's Zülfü Gürgen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daniel Pancu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Zülfü Gürgen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Daniel Pancu, 3-0. If Wasyl Cwynar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Zülfü Gürgen came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the San Gwann Birlik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zülfü Gürgen couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariusz Kocieniewski made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Anacleto Terciero threw the ball into play from the sideline. San Gwann Birlik's Aycan Tosun quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Daniel Pancu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariusz Kocieniewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Forza Beşiktaş's attentive Selmi Kayı managed to snatch the ball when Derviş Ensar made a throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game. Daniel Pancu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wasyl Cwynar in the 64th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Forza Beşiktaş's goal looked a bit too open when Mariusz Kocieniewski came free, but Daniel Pancu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 played minutes Forza Beşiktaş got a freekick which was hit by Justo Semeno. A collision led to Forza Beşiktaş getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Justo Semeno hit a great ball. In the 75th minute of the match Ender Turcan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniel Pancu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Asım Merih came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Forza Beşiktaş's Can Tapık. But to his dismay, Can Tapık quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Forza Beşiktaş's Daniel Pancu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Vedat Ongul in the 83rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Forza Beşiktaş defense, Ali Vedat Ongul kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Pancu. The Forza Beşiktaş fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Pancu should have stopped the shot. 92 minutes into the game, San Gwann Birlik's Ali Vedat Ongul nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniel Pancu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Daniel Pancu came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by San Gwann Birlik's Aycan Tosun. But to his dismay, Aycan Tosun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. There was no doubt that San Gwann Birlik were the better team. San Gwann Birlik's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
