Taner Ethem was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Taner Ethem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Hayri Özkar in the 26th minute of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Doğuş Barlas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Khalkedon FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doğuş Barlas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ahmet Hayri Özkar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Taner Ethem came out and tried to block the shot, but Ahmet Hayri Özkar slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the game, Khalkedon FK's Ayhan İnciroğlu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Taner Ethem made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Ulvi Ula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vacid Akyazıcı having to interfere. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund BVB getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Abdi Mehmet Tuğaltay hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Borussia Dortmund BVB's zone, Fazıl Hüsnü Akburç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taner Ethem came out of the goal and Fazıl Hüsnü Akburç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ayhan İnciroğlu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Taner Ethem made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulvi Ula was the one to do the kick off. İrfan Soysaltürk kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 59 minutes into the game, when Ahmet Nafiz Balta put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Khalkedon FK booed when Borussia Dortmund BVB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Nafiz Balta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fazıl Hüsnü Akburç recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Taner Ethem came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Khalkedon FK's Ayhan İnciroğlu. But to his dismay, Ayhan İnciroğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ayhan İnciroğlu in the 67th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund BVB's goalkeeper Taner Ethem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, Ahmet Hayri Özkar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Taner Ethem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Hayri Özkar, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute.
