Mustafa Hakan Samet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Turgut Ocakoğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oğuzalp İnan was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Oğuzalp İnan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Turgut Ocakoğlu went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 12th minute, Hjalmar Berg made a precise shot to the right of Oğuzalp İnan. Köycegiz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Köycegiz's Oğuzalp İnan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hjalmar Berg in the 15th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Hjalmar Berg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oğuzalp İnan was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Rahim Nasrullah hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Köycegiz's Oğuzalp İnan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turgut Ocakoğlu in the 19th minute of play. Oğuzalp İnan came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by GALATASARAY's Turgut Ocakoğlu. But to his dismay, Turgut Ocakoğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Enis Ülken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aygün Selman in the 23rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hjalmar Berg in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oğuzalp İnan saved Köycegiz from getting behind. Oğuzalp İnan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mehmet Arif Ağar's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Mehmet Arif Ağar sped through Köycegiz's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Oğuzalp İnan. Oğuzalp İnan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hjalmar Berg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Özen Garipoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half GALATASARAY were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hjalmar Berg to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Köycegiz getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Aygün Selman hit a great ball. A hard shot by Mustafa Hakan Samet from long distance, 53 minutes into the match, got Oğuzalp İnan's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Oğuzalp İnan made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Hjalmar Berg sent off a good shot on target. After 57 played minutes GALATASARAY got a freekick which was hit by Ümit Zeren. Rahim Nasrullah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Enis Ülken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hjalmar Berg got free with Oğuzalp İnan in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the match, Köycegiz's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Arif Ağar came free, but Oğuzalp İnan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Aygün Selman fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Köycegiz's protests and gave Aygün Selman a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes Köycegiz got a freekick which was hit by Aygün Selman. Oğuzalp İnan made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Hjalmar Berg sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Köycegiz's goalkeeper Oğuzalp İnan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hjalmar Berg's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Oğuzalp İnan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 92 minutes, Özen Garipoğlu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Köycegiz and the GALATASARAY players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, Köycegiz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Özen Garipoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Hjalmar Berg struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Oğuzalp İnan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GALATASARAY. When the final whistle sounded GALATASARAY left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Köycegiz.
