VanSpor's Ruud Wollans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferman İdilkurt in the 6th minute of play. Ruud Wollans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferman İdilkurt in the 7th minute of play. In the 11th minute Semail Dağtekin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruud Wollans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, VanSpor's goal looked a bit too open when Semail Dağtekin came free, but Ruud Wollans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the VanSpor defense, Semail Dağtekin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruud Wollans. The VanSpor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruud Wollans should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 57 minutes into the game, when Servet Toprak put in a rough tackle. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for VanSpor! Ruud Wollans had in the 59thth minute some difficulties stopping Sivert Molander's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ferman İdilkurt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruud Wollans having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ruud Wollans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
