The throw-in from Çağdaş Akbel in the 42nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by GALATASARAY's Hacı Demirdelen. 43 minutes into the game, GALATASARAY's Hilmi Türkoğlu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serafim Cruz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After the first half GALATASARAY were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herminio Acha was the one to do the kick off. GALATASARAY played a much better game than sahinspor and deserved their victory. The sahinspor players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
