The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gençlerbirliği's Stanislaw Rekowski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Engin Sağbilge in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Engin Sağbilge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Muharrem Sebih, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. MardinSpor's Engin Sağbilge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muharrem Sebih in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Muharrem Sebih in the 12th minute of play forced MardinSpor's goalkeeper Engin Sağbilge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 17th minute, but Engin Sağbilge got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving MardinSpor hanging dry this time. 20 minutes into the match, MardinSpor's goal looked a bit too open when Muharrem Sebih came free, but Engin Sağbilge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Muharrem Sebih got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bento Aleixo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Engin Sağbilge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Bento Aleixo got the audience’s attention when, from a short distance, he fired away a great shot in the 26th minute of the game. The shot hit the left post and bounced out. Muharrem Sebih who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Engin Sağbilge when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by MardinSpor's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Stanislaw Rekowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Gençlerbirliği's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Kristen Michálek managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Muharrem Sebih in the 34th minute of play forced MardinSpor's goalkeeper Engin Sağbilge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gençlerbirliği's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stanislaw Rekowski in the 36th minute. After taking down the ball on Gençlerbirliği's corner Stanislaw Rekowski fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Engin Sağbilge quite easily take care of the ball. In the 37th minute, Filiph Låsberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Constantijn Airpoel came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Gençlerbirliği fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Constantijn Airpoel couldn't finish the play. In the 45th play minute Muharrem Sebih came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Engin Sağbilge. 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

51 minutes into the match, MardinSpor's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Aleixo came free, but Engin Sağbilge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 52 minutes into the game, Muharrem Sebih cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Engin Sağbilge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Engin Sağbilge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Aleixo in the 59th minute of play. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Muharrem Sebih sped through MardinSpor's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Engin Sağbilge. If Bento Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the MardinSpor defense, Bento Aleixo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Engin Sağbilge. The MardinSpor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Engin Sağbilge should have stopped the shot. After having played for 68 minutes, Bento Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gençlerbirliği's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bento Aleixo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Engin Sağbilge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bento Aleixo, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Constantijn Airpoel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Engin Sağbilge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 80 minutes of play, Gençlerbirliği's Bento Aleixo made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Engin Sağbilge was left in no man's land by his defense there! Engin Sağbilge came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Gençlerbirliği's Bento Aleixo. But to his dismay, Bento Aleixo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. After 85 played minutes MardinSpor got a freekick which was hit by Cevahir Canser. Engin Sağbilge didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bento Aleixo went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. 93 minutes into the match, Bento Aleixo notched a goal, 10-0, to the right of MardinSpor's Engin Sağbilge. Engin Sağbilge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gençlerbirliği's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
