The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Sahinbey SK's Hami Balbay got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Sahinbey SK's Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdi Mehmet Ulusan in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute, Baha Tüzeman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sahinbey SK's Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Sahinbey SK from getting a goal against them. After 10 played minutes Sahinbey SK got a freekick which was hit by Savaşer İlkim. Babil United's Celil İlhanoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamit Özbal in the 13th minute of play. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Babil United's goalkeeper Celil İlhanoğlu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 19 minutes Babil United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sakut Durusoy who took care of the corner kick. Sahinbey SK's Sakut Durusoy was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Celil İlhanoğlu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdi Mehmet Ulusan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Babil United's goal looked a bit too open when Ufuk Akıncı came free, but Celil İlhanoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Hamit Özbal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hamit Özbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celil İlhanoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ufuk Akıncı in the 32nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baybars Doğa got free with Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Süruri Mukremin kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The long shot by Şeray Daim in the 41st minute really tested Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 45 minutes into the game, Abdi Mehmet Ulusan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abdi Mehmet Ulusan made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Baybars Doğa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Baybars Doğa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Savaşer İlkim's late challenge caught a Babil United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Savaşer İlkim helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sahinbey SK's Savaşer İlkim got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baybars Doğa, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Ferhan Tahsin kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Sakut Durusoy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celil İlhanoğlu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Celil İlhanoğlu made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Ufuk Akıncı sent off a good shot on target. Ufuk Akıncı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Celil İlhanoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sahinbey SK's Hami Balbay got a free kick in the 72nd minute. With a little luck, Babil United's Celil İlhanoğlu got control of the ball when Ufuk Akıncı tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Görkem Özerdal in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu saved Sahinbey SK from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdi Mehmet Ulusan in the 85th minute of play forced Sahinbey SK's goalkeeper Aykutalp Balıkçıoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Abdi Mehmet Ulusan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
