René Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Pedroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute Vicente Pedroso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but René Higuita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Onur Bumba kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Walter Mølndal was the one to do the kick off. BÖRÜ's Rafael Dudamel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rahmi Özerol in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute, Radowit Kuszczak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute BÖRÜ were awarded a corner. Kutluay Oytunç went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Onur Bumba got free with René Higuita in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Doğa Ergül hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 80th match minute, Derik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesur Kadrican to maneuver through the defense. René Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Onur Bumba in the 86th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, René Higuita successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Onur Bumba succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 86th playminute. In the 89th minute, Onur Bumba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Derik's zone, Vicente Pedroso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. René Higuita came out of the goal and Vicente Pedroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 97 minutes into the match, BÖRÜ's goal looked a bit too open when Rahmi Özerol came free, but Rafael Dudamel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
