Abdullah Mert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuratay Göktepe in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute Philipp Lienhardt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdullah Mert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdullah Mert came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by İki Gözümün Çiçeği's Philipp Lienhardt. But to his dismay, Philipp Lienhardt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of İki Gözümün Çiçeği booed when Tarlabasi SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barışcan Okbudun didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Aytaç Özgenc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The corner led İki Gözümün Çiçeği's Ahmet Bedri Hasret to fire away a dangerous shot which Abdullah Mert despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Murathan Paye got free with Abdullah Mert in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience cheered loudly when Murathan Paye's long shot in the 81st minute became 0-2 when the ball went to the left of and passed Abdullah Mert.
