If Lázaro Mourato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Panagiotis Voutsas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Devold in the 16th minute of play forced Erfelek's goalkeeper Hadi Akşit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Mehmet Halis Üstündağ was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kocaelispor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Erfelek the free kick. Erfelek's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Panagiotis Voutsas in the 21st minute. The audience was convinced that Lázaro Mourato's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hadi Akşit was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 32nd minute Panagiotis Voutsas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustafa Kemal Dalmaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Mourato who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Hadi Akşit when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kocaelispor's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Panagiotis Voutsas was slow to take the kick. During this time Erfelek's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Erfelek's Panagiotis Voutsas to fire away a dangerous shot which Mustafa Kemal Dalmaz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hadi Akşit made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Hilmi Serafet sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Erfelek booed when Kocaelispor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Asım Reşat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ali Asım Reşat hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Mustafa Kemal Dalmaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panagiotis Voutsas, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After a rather tough play, Kocaelispor's Ali Asım Reşat got a free kick in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panagiotis Voutsas in the 65th minute of play forced Kocaelispor's goalkeeper Mustafa Kemal Dalmaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute of the match Ali Asım Reşat sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hadi Akşit skillfully saved the ball. Mauri Johansson kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After 75 played minutes Kocaelispor got a freekick which was hit by Muhammet Savaşer. Mustafa Kemal Dalmaz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Panagiotis Voutsas. Henrik Devold kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Kocaelispor's goalkeeper Mustafa Kemal Dalmaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baturalp Tanacan. Kocaelispor's Mustafa Kemal Dalmaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panagiotis Voutsas in the 82nd minute of play. Lázaro Mourato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hadi Akşit having to interfere. Kocaelispor succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Erfelek had controlled the match.
