In the 7thth minute of the game Carlos Fernando Albuquerque who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kızılyıldız SK's Patrik Sikström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gustaf Holm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evren Ünlü in the 9th minute of play. Gustaf Holm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liu Ran Peng, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The Kızılyıldız SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrik Sikström should have stopped the shot.
