Délio Bu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seyfi Dertsiz in the 11th minute of play. Yağızalp Vargın's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Erman Canal firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of SÖNMEZSPOR:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of MR7:s goal. Faruk Sağlık walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Javier Silbestre took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Délio Bu. Délio Bu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 39 played minutes SÖNMEZSPOR got a freekick which was hit by İstemihan Yusuf. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benito Raphael got free with Erman Canal in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 48th match minute, SÖNMEZSPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aral Harmandalı to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

51 minutes into the game, Javier Silbestre cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Délio Bu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 55 minutes of play, MR7's Karl-Michael Fredriksson made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erman Canal was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Fredriksson in the 59th minute of play forced SÖNMEZSPOR's goalkeeper Erman Canal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Raphael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erman Canal having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Karl-Michael Fredriksson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When SÖNMEZSPOR's Javier Silbestre in 65 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Délio Bu guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Délio Bu didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 68th minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. Karl-Michael Fredriksson struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute.
