In the 20th minute Darıca Gençlerbirliği were awarded a corner. Frode Ruud went to the cornerflag to take it. 32 minutes into the game, Kıvanç Arıtan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Darıca Gençlerbirliği's Şentürk Kaan quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Yiğitcan İncili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liu Ran Peng in the 33rd minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Darıca Gençlerbirliği's goalkeeper Yiğitcan İncili had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Liu Ran Peng. Patrik Sikström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frode Ruud in the 37th minute of play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Liu Ran Peng stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Birdal Alyakut blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patrik Sikström having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Liu Ran Peng's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yiğitcan İncili was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. After 86th play minutes Liu Ran Peng shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Yiğitcan İncili and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience was convinced that Birdal Alyakut's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrik Sikström was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Kızılyıldız SK were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
