But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karahan Bilkan couldn't finish the play. After 44 played minutes kankaa got a freekick which was hit by Hüseyin Rahmi Toper. Şadi Dindar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Cirone in the 46th minute of play. After the first half kankaa were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Baybars İlsak made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Karahan Bilkan sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute kankaa were awarded a corner. Karahan Bilkan went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to kankaa's Cenan Işın getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Şadi Dindar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniele Cirone, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karahan Bilkan got free with Baybars İlsak in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. kankaa walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
