Vasiliy Lovchev scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stanislav Shashkov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute, Ivan Muhin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mehis Liivak was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 28th minute, Semen Poznyakov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stanislav Shashkov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasiliy Lovchev in the 31st minute of the match. Dmitriy Losev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Ivan Muhin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mehis Liivak was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. In the 58th minute, Ivan Muhin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dmitriy Losev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislav Shashkov having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Penza HC's zone, Dmitriy Losev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stanislav Shashkov came out of the goal and Dmitriy Losev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mehis Liivak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from German Beletskiy, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. FC Baikal's Mehis Liivak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Muhin in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute German Beletskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehis Liivak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mehis Liivak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Beletskiy in the 81st minute of play. A collision led to FC Baikal getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Semen Poznyakov hit a great ball. If Dmitriy Losev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, German Beletskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Penza HC's supporters rose to their feet, but German Beletskiy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mehis Liivak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, FC Baikal's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Muhin came free, but Mehis Liivak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
