When Sergey Alanichev fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Irkutsk Titans's protests and gave Sergey Alanichev a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, Sergey Alanichev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Stepan Grushevskiy came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Astrakhan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stepan Grushevskiy couldn't finish the play. After having played for 23 minutes, Stepan Grushevskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astrakhan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stepan Grushevskiy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vladislav Blinov took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Felix Afanasev. Irkutsk Titans's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Georgiy Yatsenko to make the kick off. A collision led to Astrakhan FC getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Gerasim Korotchenkov hit a great ball. Felix Afanasev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stepan Grushevskiy in the 53rd minute of play. If Stepan Grushevskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergey Grachev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felix Afanasev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Felix Afanasev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stepan Grushevskiy in the 84th minute of the match. Stepan Grushevskiy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
