Egor Babitskiy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kirill Vishnyakov in the 4th minute of the match. Fedor Krasilnikov might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egor Babitskiy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fedor Krasilnikov ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Танкоград's zone, Stanislav Bykov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Georgiy Nelepin came out of the goal and Stanislav Bykov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute of the match, Fedor Krasilnikov got a very nice opportunity to score, but Egor Babitskiy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Танкоград's Yakov Makunin got a free kick in the 18th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Танкоград's goal looked a bit too open when Stanislav Bykov came free, but Georgiy Nelepin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Arkadiy Vlasov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgiy Nelepin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georgiy Nelepin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanislav Bykov in the 34th minute of play. Yakov Makunin got his second yellow card in the match during the 36th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Belgorod booed when Танкоград was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yakov Makunin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th match minute, Belgorod was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Spiridon Korotaev to maneuver through the defense. Georgiy Nelepin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanislav Bykov, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arkadiy Vlasov to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Arkadiy Vlasov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgiy Nelepin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fedor Krasilnikov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egor Babitskiy having to interfere. Georgiy Nelepin came out of the goal and Arkadiy Vlasov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arkadiy Vlasov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Georgiy Nelepin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stanislav Bykov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Танкоград:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Belgorod:s goal. The referee gave Belgorod a penalty, 81 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gennadiy Ostankin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Танкоград's Georgiy Nelepin. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Fedor Krasilnikov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Танкоград's supporters rose to their feet, but Fedor Krasilnikov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egor Babitskiy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Belgorod's Evgeniy Chernichenko got a free kick in the 87th minute. Georgiy Nelepin came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Belgorod's Stanislav Bykov. But to his dismay, Stanislav Bykov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Arkadiy Vlasov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Georgiy Nelepin having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiy Vlasov in the 98th minute of play forced Танкоград's goalkeeper Georgiy Nelepin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Belgorod supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Belgorod would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
