The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Konstantin Zolotuhin to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Aleksandr Chernorubashkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Alfons Dahlman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velikiy Novgorod's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfons Dahlman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitaliy Semshov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute, Gerasim Dolmatov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vitaliy Semshov. The goal made the score 0-1. In the 64th match minute, Velikiy Novgorod was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aleksandr Chernorubashkin to maneuver through the defense. Vitaliy Solovtsov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Konstantin Zolotuhin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerasim Dolmatov in the 87th minute of play forced Obninsk's goalkeeper Vitaliy Semshov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Konstantin Zolotuhin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Konstantin Zolotuhin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Velikiy Novgorod were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Obninsk's much stronger midfield.
