Marat Kononov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Miheev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 played minutes Sterlitamak got a freekick which was hit by Klim Gorshkov. Aleksey Chebaturin made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Vadim Butyrin sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ryazan's goalkeeper Aleksey Chebaturin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vadim Butyrin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Aleksey Chebaturin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ryazan booed when Sterlitamak was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iskander Simonov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 48 minutes, Roman Sergunin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ryazan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roman Sergunin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Ryazan were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Vadim Belyanskiy made the kick off in the second half. Roman Sergunin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Valentin Miheev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vadim Butyrin struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Aleksey Chebaturin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sterlitamak. Kirill Popov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Marat Kononov made a huge save. Vadim Butyrin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Aleksey Chebaturin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aleksey Chebaturin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vadim Butyrin, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After a rather tough play, Ryazan's Artem Garnaev got a free kick in the 83rd minute. If Roman Sergunin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aleksey Chebaturin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vadim Butyrin in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st minute Valentin Miheev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marat Kononov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th match minute, Sterlitamak was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yakov Konstantinovskiy to maneuver through the defense.
