Spectators: 7363 (Terracing: 5635, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the match, Murmansk's goalkeeper Vadim Tihankin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lyubomir Ermakov. Vadim Tihankin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimir Lyubimtsev in the 6th minute of the match. After 15 minutes of play, Murmansk's Mikhail Svetsinskiy made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oleg Topilin was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Lyubimtsev in the 18th minute of play forced Murmansk's goalkeeper Vadim Tihankin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Murmansk's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Lyubimtsev came free, but Vadim Tihankin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oleg Topilin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikhail Svetsinskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nikolay Koshevenko came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Murmansk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nikolay Koshevenko couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mikhail Svetsinskiy in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oleg Topilin saved Voronezh from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Nikolay Koshevenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oleg Topilin having to interfere. If Nikolay Koshevenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Voronezh got a freekick which was hit by Boris Ponedelnik. 67 minutes into the match, Murmansk's Grigoriy Frost broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Oleg Topilin made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Nikolay Koshevenko sent off a good shot on target. Lyubomir Ermakov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Vadim Tihankin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vladimir Gorbunov hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Semen Kantonistov was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Vadim Tihankin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lyubomir Ermakov in the 78th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Mikhail Svetsinskiy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nikolay Koshevenko took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oleg Topilin. Oleg Topilin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 88th match minute, Murmansk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanislav Tarasenko to maneuver through the defense.
