An unexpectedly hard shot by Yakov Nikolaev in the 6th minute of play forced Berezniki's goalkeeper Matvey Bochkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 8 played minutes ZENIT-78 got a freekick which was hit by Albert Basargin. Pavel Shashkov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Daniil Shirko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Yakov Nikolaev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Yuriy Zhidkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to ZENIT-78 getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Vasiliy Koshelev hit a great ball. After 20 minutes ZENIT-78's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Evgeniy Volkov who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, ZENIT-78's Yakov Nikolaev got a free kick in the 21st minute. 24 minutes into the match, ZENIT-78's goalkeeper Daniil Shirko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yuriy Zhidkov. In the 28th minute Yakov Nikolaev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matvey Bochkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Yakov Nikolaev sped through Berezniki's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Matvey Bochkin. Yakov Nikolaev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matvey Bochkin having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Albert Basargin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Matvey Bochkin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 45th minute, Pavel Shashkov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Daniil Shirko. The goal made the score 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nikita Grishanin made a kick off. Vasiliy Boyarintsev kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Yakov Nikolaevs short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Matvey Bochkin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Daniil Shirko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuriy Zhidkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valeriy Dolgolaptev's late challenge caught a Berezniki's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valeriy Dolgolaptev helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, ZENIT-78's Valeriy Dolgolaptev got a free kick in the 56th minute. A collision led to ZENIT-78 getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Nikita Grishanin hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the match, Berezniki's goalkeeper Matvey Bochkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yakov Nikolaev. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Berezniki:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ZENIT-78:s goal. Anton Latynin shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 70th minute, Vasiliy Boyarintsev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vasiliy Boyarintsev was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. 85 minutes into the match, ZENIT-78's goal looked a bit too open when Yuriy Zhidkov came free, but Daniil Shirko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Yakov Nikolaev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matvey Bochkin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Matvey Bochkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikita Grishanin, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Yakov Nikolaev who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Matvey Bochkin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The ZENIT-78 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
