Velikie Luki's Stanislav Lazarev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vsevolod Gorbatenko in the 3rd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Stanislav Lazarev successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergey Golubinskiy in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stanislav Lazarev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 14th minute, Stanislav Koshechkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mikhail Babich tried in the 16th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Stanislav Lazarev a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. When Vsevolod Gorbatenko came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Almeria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vsevolod Gorbatenko couldn't finish the play. Almeria's Sergey Golubinskiy got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vsevolod Gorbatenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Stanislav Lazarev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 2-0 became the score in the 26th minute when Sergey Golubinskiy elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Velikie Luki fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! Yuriy Artamonov walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 33rd minute, Almeria's Sergey Golubinskiy dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Sergey Golubinskiy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislav Lazarev having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergey Golubinskiy in the 43rd minute of play forced Velikie Luki's goalkeeper Stanislav Lazarev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Vsevolod Gorbatenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almeria's supporters rose to their feet, but Vsevolod Gorbatenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanislav Lazarev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Stanislav Koshechkin kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute of the match Yuriy Artamonov sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stanislav Lazarev skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vsevolod Gorbatenko in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. Filimon Massalskiy's late challenge caught a Almeria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filimon Massalskiy helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Velikie Luki's zone, Sergey Golubinskiy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stanislav Lazarev came out of the goal and Sergey Golubinskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vsevolod Gorbatenko took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stanislav Lazarev. Stanislav Lazarev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 73rd minute, Sergey Golubinskiy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Almeria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Stanislav Lazarev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vsevolod Gorbatenko in the 76th minute of the match. Vsevolod Gorbatenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislav Lazarev having to interfere. Stanislav Lazarev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vsevolod Gorbatenko in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Velikie Luki was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikhail Babich to maneuver through the defense. Stanislav Lazarev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vsevolod Gorbatenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. If Vsevolod Gorbatenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergey Golubinskiy in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stanislav Lazarev saved Velikie Luki from getting behind. 92 minutes into the match, Velikie Luki's goal looked a bit too open when Danila Erichev came free, but Stanislav Lazarev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vsevolod Gorbatenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Almeria were the better team. Almeria's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
