In the 9th minute Oleg Ershov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vikentiy Nikiforov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 11 minutes, Aleksey Kantonistov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aleksey Kantonistov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lev Bortnik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 19 minutes, Emmanuil Pustovetov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rybinsk and the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Georgiy Vidyasov had great luck who in the 23rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Aleksey Kantonistov from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Georgiy Vidyasov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Artur Dityatin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Dityatin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Georgiy Vidyasov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Artur Dityatin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Georgiy Vidyasov made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aleksey Kantonistov in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Georgiy Vidyasov saved Rybinsk from getting behind. Aleksey Kantonistov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georgiy Vidyasov having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Rybinsk's zone, Artur Dityatin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Georgiy Vidyasov came out of the goal and Artur Dityatin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aleksey Kantonistov to strike the kick off in the second half. Georgiy Vidyasov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Dityatin in the 54th minute of play. Artur Dityatin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georgiy Vidyasov having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Artur Dityatin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Dityatin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 84 minutes into the match, Rybinsk's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Dityatin came free, but Georgiy Vidyasov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Artur Dityatin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aleksey Kantonistov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georgiy Vidyasov having to interfere. Artur Dityatin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Georgiy Vidyasov having to make a save. 94 minutes into the game, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC's Aleksey Kantonistov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Georgiy Vidyasov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
