Spectators: 7374 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) Berezniki HC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Boris Gusev scored to the left of an out of position Gerasim Pugachev, making the score, 1-0. Igor Grivtsov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitaliy Kalashnikov in the 6th minute of the match. Gerasim Pugachev came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Oleg Mishin. But to his dismay, Oleg Mishin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Igor Grivtsov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitaliy Kalashnikov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Efim Elgarov came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the FC Shakhtar Donetsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Efim Elgarov couldn't finish the play. Gerasim Pugachev stood somewhat misplaced when Sergey Shevchenko came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 24 minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergey Shevchenko in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerasim Pugachev saved Berezniki HC from getting behind. When Oleg Mishin came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the FC Shakhtar Donetsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oleg Mishin couldn't finish the play. Oleg Mishin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Gerasim Pugachev when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gerasim Pugachev made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Oleg Mishin sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oleg Mishin to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, FC Shakhtar Donetsk's goal looked a bit too open when Foma Bolman came free, but Igor Grivtsov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Grivtsov made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Vitaliy Kalashnikov sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Berezniki HC's Evsey Burkanov slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Igor Grivtsov. That made the score 3-1 after 57 minutes of play. Oleg Mishin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerasim Pugachev having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Berezniki HC's Foma Bolman got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vitaliy Kalashnikov got free with Igor Grivtsov in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 71 minutes, Sergey Shevchenko made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Berezniki HC's Gerasim Pugachev tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Oleg Mishin might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gerasim Pugachev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oleg Mishin ran back to his position shaking his head. Efim Elgarov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerasim Pugachev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. When FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Oleg Mishin in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Berezniki HC's goalie prevented a goal. Gerasim Pugachev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oleg Mishin in the 88th minute of play.
