In the 20th minute, Gennadiy Nikitin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 23 played minutes Ekaterinburg FC got a freekick which was hit by Fedor Makeev. After 24 played minutes, TOMSK's Vadim Bystrov shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yakov Badmaev came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in TOMSK reached it. If Mark Zastavskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Georgiy Sabadash struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Ernest Alekseev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ekaterinburg FC. The supporters of TOMSK booed when Ekaterinburg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irakliy Davydov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, TOMSK's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Zastavskiy came free, but Ernest Alekseev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gennadiy Nikitin to make the kick off. Georgiy Sabadash might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernest Alekseev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Georgiy Sabadash scored 2-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ernest Alekseev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stanislav Tushin kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 73rd match minute, TOMSK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanislav Tushin to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in TOMSK's zone, Mark Zastavskiy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernest Alekseev came out of the goal and Mark Zastavskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mark Zastavskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 minutes of play, Ekaterinburg FC's Georgiy Sabadash made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernest Alekseev was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ekaterinburg FC's Georgiy Sabadash got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ekaterinburg FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
