After 5 played minutes Angarsk got a freekick which was hit by Denis Belyavskiy. Bronislav Koshelev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Viktor Byrganov's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. A beautiful save bye Angarsk's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viktor Byrganov in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bronislav Koshelev saved Angarsk from getting behind. Viktor Byrganov had several of the Angarsk's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 14 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Bronislav Koshelev as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 17 played minutes Angarsk got a freekick which was hit by Grigoriy Rogov. Grigoriy Rogov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Pavel Vlasov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pavel Vlasov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergey Zhdanov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viktor Byrganov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Angarsk booed when Petrozavodsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikolay Dyakovskiy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petrozavodsk FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viktor Byrganov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angarsk's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Viktor Byrganov 35 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. In the 38th minute, Vitaliy Panov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergey Zhdanov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavel Vlasov having to interfere. When Vitaliy Panov came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Petrozavodsk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vitaliy Panov couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viktor Byrganov made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oleg Pestov during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes Petrozavodsk FC got a freekick which was hit by Oleg Pestov. After 55 minutes, Sergey Zhdanov made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Petrozavodsk FC's Pavel Vlasov tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pavel Vlasov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergey Zhdanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergey Zhdanov in the 68th minute of play forced Petrozavodsk FC's goalkeeper Pavel Vlasov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerasim Karpin kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Angarsk's goal looked a bit too open when Vitaliy Panov came free, but Bronislav Koshelev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Viktor Byrganov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bronislav Koshelev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grigoriy Rogov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Petrozavodsk FC's zone, Sergey Zhdanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pavel Vlasov came out of the goal and Sergey Zhdanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viktor Byrganov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Bronislav Koshelev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
