After having played for 4 minutes, Igor Semenovskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kazan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Igor Semenovskiy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arseniy Krylov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egor Klimchuk having to interfere. Anatoliy Urozhaev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Igor Semenovskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salavat's Petr Drozdov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anatoliy Urozhaev in the 27th minute of play. Arseniy Krylov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anatoliy Urozhaev in the 35th minute of play forced Salavat's goalkeeper Petr Drozdov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Kazan FC's Trifon Cherneevskiy got a free kick in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Kazan FC's goalkeeper Egor Klimchuk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Konstantin Galaktionov. Rudolf Yakushev's late challenge caught a Salavat's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rudolf Yakushev helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had been going on for 44 minutes, Salavat's Igor Zakharov got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Egor Klimchuk.

After some careless play in the Salavat defense, Igor Semenovskiy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petr Drozdov. The Salavat fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petr Drozdov should have stopped the shot. In the 60th minute, Konstantin Galaktionov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Egor Klimchuk was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Igor Semenovskiy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Petr Drozdov made a huge save. Vasiliy Grebtsov hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Igor Zakharov kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Kazan FC's Anatoliy Urozhaev sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Petr Drozdov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Salavat getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Rustam Burovin hit a great ball. Arseniy Krylov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Konstantin Galaktionov in the 87th minute of play forced Kazan FC's goalkeeper Egor Klimchuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arseniy Krylov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Ilya Godunov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
