The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rudolf Chepasov during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Glazov booed when Saint Petersburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Chepasov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikolay Budakov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boris Lomonosov having to interfere. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saint Petersburg's goalkeeper Boris Lomonosov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Saint Petersburg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Nikolay Budakov scored to the left of an out of position Boris Lomonosov, making the score, 2-0. A collision led to Glazov getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Evgeniy Osipov hit a great ball. Gleb Pilipenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Grigoriy Krivosheev put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Boris Lomonosov. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Boris Lomonosov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evgeniy Osipov went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Saint Petersburg's zone, Grigoriy Krivosheev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boris Lomonosov came out of the goal and Grigoriy Krivosheev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 57 played minutes Saint Petersburg got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Ayushiev. After a rather tough play, Glazov's Evgeniy Medvedev got a free kick in the 63rd minute. When Yakov Demetr fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Glazov's protests and gave Yakov Demetr a yellow card for diving instead. Grigoriy Krivosheev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Saint Petersburg getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Maksim Akinfeev hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Saint Petersburg's goal looked a bit too open when Grigoriy Krivosheev came free, but Boris Lomonosov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Glazov's Nikolay Budakov in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Glazov had won after a very even match.
