The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pavel Alov in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergey Ivanov got free with Kirill Hrometskiy in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 10 minutes into the match, Anatoliy Gripp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gennadiy Semin. Leninsk-Kuznetsky FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anatoliy Gripp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Venedikt Maksimov hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Pavel Alov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leninsk-Kuznetsky FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pavel Alov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kirill Hrometskiy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vladimir Burov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
