After 24 played minutes Leninsk-Kuznetsky FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrey Petuhov. Denis Baigildeev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Stanislav Atarov fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petropavlovsk-Kamch. HC's protests and gave Stanislav Atarov a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Petropavlovsk-Kamch. HC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Stanislav Atarov hit a great ball. If Pavel Alov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute of the match, Aleksey Bilibin got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gennadiy Semin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Ivan Serebrennikov sped through Petropavlovsk-Kamch. HC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Felix Novikov. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Pavel Alov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leninsk-Kuznetsky FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pavel Alov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felix Novikov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Leninsk-Kuznetsky FC's zone, Aleksey Bilibin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gennadiy Semin came out of the goal and Aleksey Bilibin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gennadiy Semin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Petr Dunaevskiy went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Pavel Alov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Novikov having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pavel Alov in the 67th minute of play forced Petropavlovsk-Kamch. HC's goalkeeper Felix Novikov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
