After a defensive mix-up in lipetsk's zone, Felice Gianfrancesco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zula Karbowski came out of the goal and Felice Gianfrancesco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Wlodzimierz Dziuma kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Evgeniy Epshtein. That made the score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. If Felice Gianfrancesco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evgeniy Epshtein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wlodzimierz Dziuma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zula Karbowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Pernambucano in the 14th minute of play. Vsevolod Turov hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Roman Larionov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 18 minutes into the match, Wlodzimierz Dziuma dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Evgeniy Epshtein, 2-0. Evgeniy Epshtein made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arkadiy Bestemyanov in the 22nd minute. Zula Karbowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Pernambucano in the 25th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vsevolod Turov during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vsevolod Turov hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Felice Gianfrancesco might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zula Karbowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felice Gianfrancesco ran back to his position shaking his head. Felice Gianfrancesco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Zula Karbowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ROTOR's Evgeniy Epshtein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wlodzimierz Dziuma in the 37th minute of play. Evgeniy Epshtein was a little too slow when Wlodzimierz Dziuma got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 3-0. 45 minutes into the match, lipetsk's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Larionov came free, but Zula Karbowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felice Gianfrancesco scored 3-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zula Karbowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arkadiy Bestemyanov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Wlodzimierz Dziuma ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evgeniy Epshtein was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. ROTOR's Evgeniy Epshtein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wlodzimierz Dziuma in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute Valeriy Kekcheev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evgeniy Epshtein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, ROTOR's Laur Vabadus got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind ROTOR's goalkeeper Evgeniy Epshtein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. lipetsk's Wlodzimierz Dziuma got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evgeniy Epshtein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arkadiy Bestemyanov in the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Arkadiy Bestemyanov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evgeniy Epshtein. ROTOR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arkadiy Bestemyanov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. A collision led to ROTOR getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Laur Vabadus hit a great ball. ROTOR's Evgeniy Epshtein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arkadiy Bestemyanov in the 71st minute of play. In the 75th match minute, lipetsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danil Kokoshnikov to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the game, lipetsk's Wlodzimierz Dziuma nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evgeniy Epshtein made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. Veniamin Bochkin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 86 minutes into the match. Filimon Bessonov kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Zula Karbowski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Juninho Pernambucano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 7-2 in the 93 minute of play. ROTOR were awarded a corner in the 99th minute after lipetsk's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vyacheslav Velikanov took the corner. The corner ended in Vyacheslav Velikanov almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but lipetsk's Zula Karbowski did a great save. lipetsk were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of ROTOR for a fine match.
