Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Leon Zdrojowy successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Leon Zdrojowy came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Krasnodar FC's Roman Serdyuk. But to his dismay, Roman Serdyuk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Esperance's Leon Zdrojowy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Serdyuk in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, one of Krasnodar FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Krasnodar FC. The referee gave Esperance a penalty, 11 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vadim Vatagin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Krasnodar FC's Oriche Vega. 1-1. Esperance's Leon Zdrojowy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Esperance from getting a goal against them. Oriche Vega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Vorobiev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esperance's Leon Zdrojowy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gennadiy Demyanenko in the 20th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Gennadiy Demyanenko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leon Zdrojowy. Esperance's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gennadiy Demyanenko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After having played for 23 minutes, Marat Markov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esperance's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marat Markov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Esperance's Leon Zdrojowy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gennadiy Demyanenko in the 25th minute of play. Leon Zdrojowy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arkadiy Dorenskiy in the 28th minute of play. Krasnodar FC were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Esperance's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leonid Malafeev took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Esperance's goalie and right to Isidoros Pantelakis. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Esperance's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Göktürk Canfeda hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Gleb Sorokin's late challenge caught a Krasnodar FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gleb Sorokin helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Esperance's Gleb Sorokin got a free kick in the 35th minute. Roman Serdyuk struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Leon Zdrojowy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Krasnodar FC. If Gennadiy Demyanenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Krasnodar FC's Oriche Vega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gleb Elkibaev in the 39th minute of play. Oriche Vega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gleb Elkibaev, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gleb Elkibaev was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Krasnodar FC's goalkeeper Oriche Vega, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 58 minutes of play, Krasnodar FC's Roman Serdyuk made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leon Zdrojowy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Krasnodar FC's Oriche Vega proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Krasnodar FC from getting a goal against them. In the 63rd minute, Roman Serdyuk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Krasnodar FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. If Gleb Sorokin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes Krasnodar FC got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Uvarov. Leon Zdrojowy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Serdyuk in the 95th minute of the match. Esperance's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
