If Veniamin Markov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sven-Ove Frykberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veniamin Markov, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Aybar Bayezit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Sven-Ove Frykberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nikita Gudkov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Braginskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Новгород TS's Viviano Baños nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sven-Ove Frykberg came out of the goal and Veniamin Markov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Veniamin Markov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Sven-Ove Frykberg made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viviano Baños in the 61st minute of play forced Unica FC's goalkeeper Nikita Gudkov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Veniamin Markov got free with Sven-Ove Frykberg in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aybar Bayezit could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Sven-Ove Frykberg made a huge save. Unica FC's Dmitriy Cherep was substituted for Artur Bezborodov. After 69 minutes Новгород TS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aybar Bayezit who took care of the corner kick. The Unica FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Unica FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
