The audience thought a goal was coming when Narcis Feraru got free with Erich Henning in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 9 minutes, Aurelian Bârsan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC MARAMURES's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurelian Bârsan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the match, Petrici FCM's goal looked a bit too open when Mihai Giubelean came free, but Dinu Petru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dinu Petru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihai Giubelean in the 14th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Petrici FCM's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelian Bârsan came free, but Dinu Petru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petrici FCM's Dinu Petru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelian Bârsan in the 19th minute of play. Dinu Petru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihai Giubelean in the 20th minute of the match. Narcis Feraru hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After 26th play minutes Aurelian Bârsan shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Dinu Petru and just under the crossbar into goal. Flavius Birișu hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the game, Narcis Feraru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Petrici FCM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC MARAMURES the free kick. After 38 played minutes Petrici FCM got a freekick which was hit by Narcis Feraru. If Aurelian Bârsan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, FC MARAMURES's goal looked a bit too open when Sever Cotuțiu came free, but Erich Henning reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erich Henning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavius Birișu in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mihai Giubelean was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes FC MARAMURES got a freekick which was hit by Norman Whalley. In the 52nd minute of the match Cristi Rednic sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erich Henning skillfully saved the ball. Matei Necula lost his temper 55 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 55th minute, one of FC MARAMURES:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC MARAMURES. Cristi Rednic placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 62nd minute, Irinel Drăghincescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sever Cotuțiu scored 2-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erich Henning, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Erich Henning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavius Birișu in the 75th minute of the match. In the 75th minute Flavius Birișu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erich Henning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelian Bârsan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Dinu Petru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute of the match Cosmin Ababei sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erich Henning skillfully saved the ball. In the 89th minute, Sever Cotuțiu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Petrici FCM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 95 minutes into the match, Aurelian Bârsan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dinu Petru. Petrici FCM's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aurelian Bârsan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2.
