Rareș Mugur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gică Curta having to interfere. Gică Curta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toader Ailioaiei, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. There was no doubt that Lupuesti were the better team. Lupuesti's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
