Teodor Staicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ion Șerbulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Felix Boștină fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Albulesti CS's protests and gave Felix Boștină a yellow card for diving instead. Felix Boștină kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Albulesti CS's goalkeeper couldn't reach when George Văduvescu 31 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Tomescu in the 34th minute of play forced Steaua Bucuresti's goalkeeper Teodor Staicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Steaua Bucuresti's Teodor Staicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ion Șerbulescu in the 35th minute of play. Teodor Staicu came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Albulesti CS's Manuel Tomescu. But to his dismay, Manuel Tomescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Steaua Bucuresti's Teodor Staicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ion Șerbulescu in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute Felix Boștină shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodor Staicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and George Văduvescu made a kick off. Felix Boștină struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Teodor Staicu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albulesti CS. Teodor Staicu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ion Șerbulescu in the 55th minute. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Manuel Tomescu took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Teodor Staicu to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers George Văduvescu in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vlad Frâncu saved Albulesti CS from getting behind. In the 70th minute, Steaua Bucuresti's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ion Șerbulescu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 71st minute of the match, Manuel Tomescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Teodor Staicu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Steaua Bucuresti's zone, Cristi Tănase stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodor Staicu came out of the goal and Cristi Tănase tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Ion Șerbulescu could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Teodor Staicu however easily saved by the left post. Ion Șerbulescu in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Teodor Staicu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 78 minutes into the match, Steaua Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Cristi Tănase came free, but Teodor Staicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steaua Bucuresti's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Felix Boștină scored to the left of an out of position Teodor Staicu, making the score, 1-4. 84 minutes into the match, Steaua Bucuresti's goalkeeper Teodor Staicu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristi Tănase. In the 85th minute of the match, Manuel Tomescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Teodor Staicu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 86th minute, Albulesti CS's Felix Boștină dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Albulesti CS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
