Zaharesti AFC's Viorel Popoacă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Tarchilă in the 14th minute of play. Florin Porumbescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ioan Cantemir charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ioan Cantemir the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ioan Cantemir kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. With a little luck, Zaharesti AFC's Viorel Popoacă got control of the ball when Florin Porumbescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Velea's zone, Luca Ponor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisc Luca came out of the goal and Luca Ponor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th match minute, Velea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rareș Leluțiu to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victor Lamru to strike the kick off in the second half. When Victor Lamru came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Zaharesti AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Lamru couldn't finish the play. Toader Surugiu kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Zaharesti AFC's Victor Lamru got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
