An unexpectedly hard shot by Filip Aurelianu in the 35th minute of play forced Phoenix Seini -MM-'s goalkeeper Pompiliu Zbârnea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pompiliu Zbârnea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dragoş Ciordaș went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After the first half FC.Steaua were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isac Bălanescu to strike the kick off in the second half. Tudor Vlăsiu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Pompiliu Zbârnea made a huge save. Cezar Orghidan hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. When the match was over FC.Steaua could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Phoenix Seini -MM- throughout the match.
