Steaua București's Mihăiţă Neața played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Cumpanașu in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Codrin Văcaru notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ucea AS's Vali Olăroiu. Vali Olăroiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Gabi Balint had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. In the 27thth minute of the game Gabi Balint who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ucea AS's Vali Olăroiu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Benga to make the kick off. Ucea AS's attack was well implemented in the 67th minute, but when Cazimir Cumpanașu was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Cazimir Cumpanașu scored 1-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mihăiţă Neața, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mihăiţă Neața made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cazimir Cumpanașu in the 73rd minute. Codrin Văcaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vali Olăroiu having to interfere. In the 79th minute Gabi Balint shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vali Olăroiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iurie Păunescu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the match, Ucea AS's goal looked a bit too open when Corneliu Jivulescu came free, but Vali Olăroiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steaua București's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabi Balint was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vali Olăroiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codrin Văcaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 92nd minute, one of Ucea AS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ucea AS. After 96 minutes of play, Steaua București's Gabi Balint made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vali Olăroiu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Steaua București were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Ucea AS to leave the ground with a draw.
