After a rather tough play, CSM Baia Mare -MM-'s Besim Oyanalp got a free kick in the 16th minute. A collision led to Ciungani getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Romeo Drăucean hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, CSM Baia Mare -MM-'s Nils Alén ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alexandru Cocoș. Alexandru Cocoș yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. If Nils Alén had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th match minute, Ciungani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gică Cumpan to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Ciungani's goalkeeper Alexandru Cocoș had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giancarlo García. Nils Alén fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandru Cocoș having to interfere. Alexandru Cocoș stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giancarlo García's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Remus Zogreanus short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Alexandru Cocoș to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 44 minutes into the match, Ciungani's goal looked a bit too open when Nils Alén came free, but Alexandru Cocoș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 45 played minutes CSM Baia Mare -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Besim Oyanalp. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nils Alén was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Romeo Drăucean was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ciungani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CSM Baia Mare -MM- the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Romeo Drăucean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 56 minutes, Remus Zogreanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CSM Baia Mare -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Remus Zogreanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Călin Lăzăroiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ciungani booed when CSM Baia Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Besim Oyanalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandru Cocoș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giancarlo García in the 73rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan Dichiseanu in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandru Cocoș prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Remus Zogreanu charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Remus Zogreanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, CSM Baia Mare -MM-'s Remus Zogreanu got a free kick in the 79th minute. Aurelian Mustea in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sever Paulescu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Dan Dichiseanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. CSM Baia Mare -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Dan Dichiseanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandru Cocoș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 86 minutes of play, CSM Baia Mare -MM-'s Giancarlo García made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexandru Cocoș was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Dan Dichiseanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute Giancarlo García shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandru Cocoș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nils Alén in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandru Cocoș prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. CSM Baia Mare -MM- had played much better football throughout.
