Panait Gherase tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Panait Gherase showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codrin Goiciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Maxut FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nistor Caba came free, but Panait Gherase reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Tiberiu Dobrea made the kick off in the second half. Panait Gherase was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Codrin Goiciu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 52 minute of play.
