When Alexandru Mardare fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Calapodesti CS's protests and gave Alexandru Mardare a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of MARPOP booed when Calapodesti CS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Mardare didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octavian Boboc's late challenge caught a MARPOP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Octavian Boboc helped the player get up and apologised. Fabian Enoaia had in the 42ndth minute some difficulties stopping Damian Măgurean's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Calapodesti CS's zone, Sandu Vulpescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabian Enoaia came out of the goal and Sandu Vulpescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Calapodesti CS's Fabian Enoaia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viorel Iliuță in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandu Vulpescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Iacob Gheban suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. 52 minutes into the game, Mugurel Barbosu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MARPOP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calapodesti CS the free kick. After 53 played minutes MARPOP got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Barbosu. If Nae Neculce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vasile Pupăzan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nae Neculce in the 56th minute of play. Fabian Enoaia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandu Vulpescu in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandu Vulpescu in the 62nd minute of play forced Calapodesti CS's goalkeeper Fabian Enoaia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, MARPOP's Fabian Enoaia threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sandu Vulpescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nae Neculce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasile Pupăzan having to interfere. Sandu Vulpescu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. MARPOP's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Nae Neculce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasile Pupăzan having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Manuel Opriș was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calapodesti CS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MARPOP the free kick. After 71 played minutes Calapodesti CS got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Opriș. Viorel Iliuță came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fabian Enoaia could save by the left post. In the 79th minute, MARPOP's Sandu Vulpescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nae Neculce in the 84th minute of play forced MARPOP's goalkeeper Vasile Pupăzan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandru Mardare received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Vasile Pupăzan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olimpiu Perșa hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Fabian Enoaia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Vulpescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viorel Iliuță took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabian Enoaia. Fabian Enoaia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2.
