Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wieslaw Cytrynski started the match with the kick off. After having played for 6 minutes, Mihai Ecobescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matasoaia AS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihai Ecobescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wieslaw Cytrynski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liviu Paveliuc having to interfere. Liviu Paveliuc came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Riders Cluj-Napoca's Wieslaw Cytrynski. But to his dismay, Wieslaw Cytrynski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Wieslaw Cytrynski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matei Zaharia kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Wieslaw Cytrynski might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Liviu Paveliuc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wieslaw Cytrynski ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half FC Riders Cluj-Napoca were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 54th minute Wieslaw Cytrynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liviu Paveliuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Gelu Staicu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FC Riders Cluj-Napoca booed when Matasoaia AS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matei Zaharia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gelu Staicu got free with Liviu Paveliuc in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the match, FC Riders Cluj-Napoca's Wieslaw Cytrynski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Liviu Paveliuc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Wieslaw Cytrynski fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Liviu Paveliuc, passed just outside the right post. David Gaitan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liviu Paveliuc having to interfere. Mihai Ecobescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aron Gafița having to interfere. Wieslaw Cytrynski might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Liviu Paveliuc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wieslaw Cytrynski ran back to his position shaking his head. Liviu Paveliuc made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Gelu Staicu sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to FC Riders Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Cezar Bornescu hit a great ball. With a little luck, Matasoaia AS's Liviu Paveliuc got control of the ball when David Gaitan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th minute, Wieslaw Cytrynski fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Liviu Paveliuc, passed just outside the right post. After 97 played minutes Matasoaia AS got a freekick which was hit by Vintilă Mustea. FC Riders Cluj-Napoca played a much better game than Matasoaia AS and deserved their victory. The Matasoaia AS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
