Mugur Berca was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 53 minutes into the match. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. The goalkeeper, George Șeimeanu, was totally fooled by STEAUA's Razvan Rizea, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 61 minutes into the match, Ciala's goalkeeper George Șeimeanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Razvan Rizea. 62 minutes into the match, Ciala's goal looked a bit too open when Razvan Rizea came free, but George Șeimeanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mihai Podaru struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. George Șeimeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for STEAUA. Horea Mitu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. George Șeimeanu was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. With a little luck, Ciala's George Șeimeanu got control of the ball when Razvan Rizea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Razvan Rizea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Șeimeanu having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded STEAUA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ciala.
