An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Anton in the 6th minute of play forced Steaua's goalkeeper Mihnea Popoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mihnea Popoiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mugur Brumaru went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Steaua's Mihnea Popoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Brumaru in the 10th minute of play. If Emilian Horia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Comlod SC defense, Emilian Horia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Dănilă. The Comlod SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Dănilă should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Comlod SC's goalkeeper David Dănilă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. David Dănilă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertas Balkys in the 24th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albertas Balkys was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Albertas Balkys left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steaua fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After a rather tough play, Comlod SC's Aurel Anton got a free kick in the 57th minute. David Dănilă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albertas Balkys's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. David Dănilă came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Steaua's Albertas Balkys. But to his dismay, Albertas Balkys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute of the match Eugen Eremia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Dănilă skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Comlod SC's zone, Emilian Horia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Dănilă came out of the goal and Emilian Horia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes in the game, Aurel Anton fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mihnea Popoiu having to interfere. Albertas Balkys blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without David Dănilă having to make a save. David Dănilă came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Steaua's Albertas Balkys. But to his dismay, Albertas Balkys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Steaua! Mihnea Popoiu went to the wrong direction when Sever Ciolac was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Mugur Brumaru took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mihnea Popoiu. Mihnea Popoiu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2.
