Spectators: 6714 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sabin Antoniu started the match with the kick off. Albertas Balkys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilian Horia in the 5th minute of play forced Bulgarul's goalkeeper Stelian Ispas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matei Lesnea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Mihnea Popoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihnea Popoiu was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Sabin Antoniu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sabin Antoniu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 14 minutes into the match, Albertas Balkys had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stelian Ispas. Bulgarul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Albertas Balkys was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Steaua's Narcis Sucigan got a free kick in the 21st minute. Stelian Ispas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilian Horia, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 33rdth minute of the game Sabin Antoniu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Steaua's Mihnea Popoiu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mihnea Popoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabin Antoniu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zahavi Birbauer hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The supporters of Bulgarul booed when Steaua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iustin Cioroianu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sabin Antoniu in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mihnea Popoiu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 44th minute, Leontin Cristache got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihnea Popoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mihnea Popoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Antoniu in the 58th minute of play. Stelian Ispas made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Emilian Horia sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Bulgarul's zone, Emilian Horia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stelian Ispas came out of the goal and Emilian Horia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mihnea Popoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Antoniu in the 84th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabin Antoniu in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihnea Popoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mihnea Popoiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sabin Antoniu went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Mihnea Popoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabin Antoniu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Bulgarul were the better team. Bulgarul's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
